blogdiva is a proud cosmoafroboricua, a sassy wise latina and unapologetic feminist. blogdiva is a multilingual thought leader, a blog publisher extraordinaire, and a criminally prolific twittinfluencer. blogdiva is in lowercase; not as a shout-out to e.e. cummings or to bell hooks but as a convenience in typing. blogdiva loves to shmear gossip, news, sports and tech with humor and profanity all the time every time. but more importantly, blogdiva doesnt give a fuck whether you like her or not.

liza (and that would be me), on the other hand, does.

See, at the end of the day, blogdiva is but a writing persona, the performative voice I've developed for my online presence. blogdiva is part a huge part of who I am but is certainly not all of me.

blogdiva is the way my brain speaks when I let my guts take the reins of my writing. She is basically me with as little filters I can get away with --and trust me, I actually censor myself way more than I care to admit. And what's ironic is that blogdiva became stronger and clearer, the minute I had to maximize her impact via Twitter. I have years of using blogdiva as a pseudonym --it's my login of choice when I can't get liza on a site. Yet as a style of writing it really didn't take off until I hit the micro-blogging site in the spring of 2007.

The 140 characters constraints of a tweet turned blogdiva into a very deliberate way of writing. As culturekitchen serves as a collective of voices on the web that serves dissent daily; blogdiva has become the voice of high-impact conscious raising.

One of the most powerful lessons I've learned from blogdiva is that people don't just take to the web to look for content. We are looking for passion. We are looking for connectedness. We are looking for inspiration. Most importantly though, we are looking for real voices from real people.
