blog publisher

After more than a year of searching publishing alternatives for, what at the time functioned as a writing portfolio site, in December of 2001 I flipped the switch on the blog, culturekitchen. With culturekitchen, I became one of the first latinas to blog about identity culture , digital rights and politics in the United States. Four years later I did it again by opening Daily Gotham, one of the first community sites about grassroots politics and activism in New York City.

In the 10+ years I've been blogging, I have done more than just "blog" or write about the topics of the day. As a blog publisher I deal every day with the editorial, management and technological ins and outs of blogging. How the blog/blogs are designed, managed, published, read, commented, disseminated, linked, archived and of course, paid for are part and parcel of being a blog publisher. It is why I have not only consulted and given workshops on how to blog, but in the 10+ years I've been doing this, I've become somewhat of a "fairy blog mother" to numerous bloggers.
