I am declaring a linguistic jihad on #LATism

WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING! IT DOESN'T MAKE PHILOLOGICAL SENSE YOU ILLITERATE BRANDING TWITTS!

"LATism": Are you saying that you are of some cult of the Los Angeles Times? Are you saying you're adherents of the school of Tin Foil?

Latín is not a derivative word. It has no "root". For you to convey the meaning of Latin you need to keep the word intact. Geezus fuckin christ in a hand basket. What is it with people mangling a perfectly good language like Spanish for the sake of some marketing wanking. If you can't learn Spanish or even make an attempt to use it correctly, don't fucking brag about being a representative of Latin American, Spanish-speaking marketing professionals online.

I mean, SERIOUSLY! Do you really want to use a brand that actually conveys, as per the dictionary of La Real Academia Española, the meaning of LATO or LATUS:

lato, ta.

(Del lat. latus).

1. adj. Dilatado, extendido.

2. adj. Se dice del sentido que por extensión se da a las palabras, sin que exacta o rigurosamente les corresponda.

In other words, "LATism" would be the cult of words misused in such a way that their meaning is extended beyond recognition. Way to go #LATism pimps. You've managed to actually create a pejorative in your quest to brand yourselves as Latino marketing "experts".

Wankers.
